The hood is probably the most important piece of equipment for those who train and fly falcons.

A hood must be perfectly adjusted allowing the falcon to be comfortable and even avoid injuries.

A hood should be large enough to leave enough space for the eyes (you will see moisture inside the hood at eye level if the clearance is not enough), but not too large to avoid the bird to remove it by itself.

The opening of the mouthpiece must also conform perfectly to the contour of the beak at the cere. Too small, the opening will cause significant irritations.

For these reasons we believe that it is best to acquire this piece of equipment directly from hoodmaker craftsman who will make a hood according to the shape and dimensions of the head of your bird.

A badly adjusted hood will cause irreversible disadvantages especially during the first months of training.
